BLK WKS Studios S&R
Serpents and Rainbows: it's quite the colorful name for an equally vibrant smoking experience...
Yes, the Black Works Studio (BLK WKS) S&R cigar made its debut in 2018, after being first announced in 2016 alongside other early releases from the brand. The S&R stands for Serpents and Rainbows, inspired by the book and film The Serpent and the Rainbow. It was the first BLK WKS cigar to feature a Sumatra wrapper and include Dominican tobacco in its blend, quickly gaining attention for its unique profile and bold flavors.
After a brief hiatus, the S&R cigar returned in 2023 with a new barber pole design. The blend now features a dual-wrapper combination of dark Sumatra from Indonesia and an Ecuadorian Connecticut shade-grown compliment. These leaves are paired with an Ecuadorian Habano binder and a filler blend of Nicaraguan and Dominican tobaccos. This combination results in a bold, medium-strength cigar with complex flavor notes, including herbal citrus, cocoa, and a mix of chili and white pepper spice.
Now released annually, the S&R cigar showcases Black Works Studio’s commitment to innovative blending and creative design. Crafted at the Fabrica Oveja Negra factory in Nicaragua, the S&R offers a balanced yet intense smoking experience, appealing to cigar enthusiasts looking for something both unique and flavorful.
