Cavalier Geneve Prospektor Barberpole
When someone mentions boutique brand Cavalier Genève, what's the first thought that pops into your head? Chances are you're thinking gold; well, maybe you should be envisioning the old-timey prospector that discovered that gold! At least, that's what Cavalier's intentions are, as the company has revived the once-limited Cavalier Genève Prospektor cigar as a regular release.
Yes, like nearly all Cavalier cigars, the Prospektor arrives with a head-turning gold leaf, placed front and center as the cigar's smokable band. But the cigar sets itself apart with a subtle barber pole wrapper, boasting two shades of Jalapa (Nicaragua) viso wrappers. This allows for an attractive appearance and an added touch of complexity, while avoiding the common pitfall of many barber poles, where the profile can become muddied by the stark contrast of leaves that are simply too different to compliment each other properly. Not the case with the Cavalier Genève Prospektor cigar! These winding Nicaraguan wrappers conceal a Nicaraguan Habano binder and diverse fillers from Honduras, Nicaragua, and Paraguay, offering a medium body and an exotic profile along the lines of earth, gingerbread, toasted oak, and touches of brown sugar.
