Cuba Aliados Cabinet Edition
Long owned by the Reyes family of cigar manufacturers, the Cuba Aliados brand was once among the most sought-after lines during the cigar boom of the '90s. After losing ground in the 30 years that followed, the Reyes family sold the Cuba Aliados rights to J. Cortès Cigars, parent company of Oliva Cigars.
One year after the acquisition, Cuba Aliados was reimagined for the modern era, featuring a regular-production blend from JRE Tobacco and a limited offering from Master Blender Ernesto Perez-Carrillo. The latter cigar is dubbed Cuba Aliados by Ernesto Perez-Carrillo, debuting in a suite of five sizes and rolled in a small-batch style out of Ernesto's Casa Carrillo factory in the Dominican Republic.
Cuba Aliados by Ernesto Perez-Carrillo takes advantage of Carrillo's knack for Sumatra-style smoking experiences, featuring an Ecuadoran Sumatra wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder, and fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. The cigars are around medium in body, showing off a classic profile of cabinet spice, fresh-cut cedar, toasted rye bread, and a subtle brown sugar sweetness.
