Davidoff Year of the Dragon Limited Edition 2024
It's the 13th year in Davidoff's long-running Zodiac Series, meaning we've finally come full circle, beginning the cycle once more with the Davidoff Year of the Dragon (2024) cigar. Cigars themed around the Chinese New Year and the associated zodiac symbols are now commonplace throughout the cigar industry, and Davidoff was the company that got the ball rolling back in 2012 with the first Year of the Dragon cigar (though this was a much smaller release, only reaching Asian markets at the time).
For the Davidoff Year of the Dragon (2024) cigar, the company has gone all out, featuring a diverse tobacco recipe that includes a combined 60 years' age! This specific age dates back to 1964, which, not-so-coincidentally, was also the Year of the Dragon. The cigar begins with an Ecuadorian wrapper, being secured over a Dominican binder and fillers from the DR, Mexico, and Nicaragua.
The cigar has been rolled in two formats: 7½" x 50 and 6" x 56, with the latter only being offered through Davidoff Flagship Stores. Each size features a shaggy foot, with the wrapper being cut short from the foot of the cigar. This allows a brief smoking experience with only the binder/filler, revealing the wrapper's influence on the blend when it comes into play. As per usual, the cigars arrive with some of the finest packaging on the market, with the box being a collector-worthy item itself. With only 5,160 boxes made, the Davidoff Year of the Dragon (2024) cigar is an instant classic—a true celebratory experience to ring in the new year.
