Drew Estate Tabak Especial Dulce
Coffee and cigars go together like peanut butter and jelly. One of the first companies to put these two things together was Drew Estate in 2003 with the Kahlúa Cigars Delicioso. This was one of the first cigars to be infused with coffee and was a large success for the company. In 2007 this brand would transform into the Tabak Especial, and a second wrapper option was added to the line—a maduro—giving smokers a choice between the original Connecticut-wrapped version, now known as Dulce, and the newer, stronger Tabak Especial Negra. Tabak Especial is a premium, handmade long-filler cigar, not your typical flavored cigar.
The Tabak Especial Dulce cigar uses a Connecticut Shade wrapper, Sumatra binder, and Nicaraguan fillers. The coffee infusion is present enough to satisfy infused cigar enthusiasts and even newer cigar smokers, but subtle enough to be enjoyed by the seasoned aficionado as a nice change of pace or with a morning coffee. As you would expect, the flavor profile is full of rich coffee notes, but also be on the lookout for some spice, chocolate, and plenty of cream through the finish.
