Since being founded in 2009, cigar enthusiasts have come to expect certain familiar concepts from E.P. Carrillo Cigars, including (but not limited to) lively smoking profiles, large ring gauges, and Dominican craftsmanship. Now, the E.P. Carrillo Short Run 2023 cigar changes one of these attributes, as the cigars swap countries for the first time... You're read that right! Despite Carrillo's own Dominican factory being among the most sought after in the biz, Ernesto understands that a new perspective is sometimes warranted to refresh the palate. As such, he's partnered with Oscar Valladares and his fan-favorite Honduran factory for the Short Run 2023 cigar. As with previous releases in the Short Run series, the cigars are indeed limited to the given year, with 3,125 boxes making their way to humidors this go-round. Differing from the Dominican core of previous releases, the Short Run 2023 focuses on Central American tobacco. This includes Nicaraguan and Honduran leaves throughout the filler, a Nicaraguan binder, and an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. Medium to full in body, the E.P. Carrillo Short Run 2023 maintains a lively profile that fans have come to expect, shifting gears towards a Central American profile with notes of peppered toast, mineral-rich earth, fresh-baked pretzel, and touches of caramel through the finish.
