Espinosa Las 6 Provincias ZDT
In 2018, Espinosa Premium Cigars took on the ambitious task of crafting a new, limited smoking experience for each of Cuba's original six provinces. The series has continued on a near-annual basis ever since, with the 2023 release of Las 6 Provincias ZDT marking the fifth cigar in the collection.
The Espinosa Las 6 Provincias ZDT arrives with added significance for Espinosa and cigar enthusiasts, as it represents the Zona de Tabaco, being the famed Pinar del Río region known for producing Cuba's best tobaccos. As with other releases in the series, the ZDT cigar has been crafted out of A.J. Fernández's northernmost San Lotano factory in Ocotal, Nicaragua. The blend includes Fernández's acclaimed Nicaraguan tobacco throughout the binder/filler, being topped with a dark Corojo wrapper.
Erik Espinosa's son, Erik Jr., has taken it upon himself to create unique and eye-catching presentations for each new Las 6 Provincias release, and the ZDT is no different. This go-'round, the cigars are presented in 20-count ceramic jars, featuring custom artwork from local Cuban artist Eden Gutierrez. This series has become one of the most sought-after annual releases from Espinosa, and the ZDT stands up to its reputation, offering a medium-full intensity and a punchy profile of toasted oak, peppered toast, cocoa, and touches of stone fruit sweetness through the finish.
