The now-beloved Foundation Cigar Company first debuted in 2015 with a single offering: El Güegüense. The Nicaraguan-themed cigar was followed two years later by the El Güegüense Maduro, with the duo being praised by critics and cigar hobbyists alike. Nearly a decade later, the El Güegüense line has been reimagined as The Wise Man (which is the English translation for El Güegüense, offering the cigars in both Corojo and Maduro variants. This includes a new look, new tobaccos, and a new factory, as company owner/founder, Nick Melillo, has partnered with the legendary García family (of My Father Cigars fame) to bring the project to life. The Wise Man from Foundation Cigar Co. features both The Wise Man Corojo and The Wise Man Maduro blends, each making use of all-Nicaraguan tobaccos throughout the cigars' binder and filler recipes. This includes a double binder from the Estelí and Jalapa growing regions, with fillers being harvested from Condega, Estelí, and Jalapa. The Wise Man Maduro uses a Mexican San Andrés cover leaf. It's a familiar yet fresh take on a crowd-favorite smoking experience, The Wise Man Maduro, is medium-full in body, hitting more robust characteristics of fiery earth, black pepper, baker's cocoa, and touches of stone fruit through the finish.
