Gurkha’s Cellar Reserve cigars have been a favorite among craft enthusiasts since launching in 2011. And each year following, the brand has introduced new and exciting updates and spinoffs with more rare and exotic tobaccos being uncovered… Three years after the Cellar Reserve hit retail shelves, Gurkha delved deeper into their tobacco cellars and introduced the Gurkha Cellar Reserve Edición Especial (aka Cellar Reserve 18 Year). These aged beauties arrive in a familiar presentation, showcasing a wine crate-style box, using mahogany wood and an impressive piano finish. But it’s what’s on the inside that counts! The cigars are rolled in four intricate sizes, showcasing an impressive, stout perfecto build and pigtail cap. A Corojo wrapper is draped over Dominican binder and fillers, including the cigar’s showstopper—18-year-aged filler tobacco. This is what separates the premium cigars from the ultra-premium, as smokers are presented with deep complexities of leather, barnyard hay, pour-over coffee, and sweet graham crackers. Originally, only 100 boxes of each size were made available, due to the limited tobaccos used. Gurkha Cellar Reserve 18 Year cigars are now occasionally made available in small batches.
