Gurkha Cigars debuted the Treinta in 2019 in commemoration of the company's 30th anniversary, with the name translating from Spanish to mean Thirty. This milestone helped to usher in a significant transition for Gurkha, partnering with the acclaimed Aganorsa Leaf factory in Nicaragua for the first time. Aganorsa Leaf is well known within craft-smoking circles throughout the cigar industry, using authentic Cuban cigar-crafting techniques such as entubado bunching. Additionally, Aganorsa operates one of the top two largest agricultural operations of premium tobacco throughout Nicaragua. Naturally, Gurkha made good use of this asset, selecting choice Aganorsa tobacco throughout Gurkha Treinta's binder and filler. This includes Nicaraguan Corojo '99 and Criollo '98 within the filler, and a Nicaraguan Corojo '99 binder. The blend is finished with an Ecuadorian Habano Rosado wrapper, tying the experience together with beautiful balance. The end result is a medium-bodied profile, showing fine-tuned complexities of toasted nuts, clean cedar, citrus zest, dried fruit sweetness, and graham cracker crust.
