Leave it to Gurkha Cigars to take a fan-favorite concept and crank it up to eleven! Yes, in recent years, the industry's top manufacturers have begun showing off some of their most fine-tuned smoking experiences on an annual basis, being released to coincide with the Chinese New Year and the associated zodiac symbol. With Gurkha embracing dragon iconography throughout many of their releases over the years, they weren't about to let 2024's Year of the Dragon roll by without showing off something special... Gurkha set off the festivities in late 2023 with the Gurkha Year of the Dragon 2024 cigar. However, unbeknownst to the casual cigar hobbyist, the company had FOUR more Dragons in their arsenal. With this fiery five, Gurkha has partnered with five of the most talented cigar manufacturers on the market today, showing off five unique smoking experiences in five unique formats. Gurkha Year of the Dragon 2024 (AJ Fernandez) The AJ Fernandez rendition is packaged in green, featuring a box-pressed 6⅝" x 52 size and an undisclosed tobacco recipe. Gurkha Year of the Dragon 2024 (Tabacalera La Alianza) E.P.Carillo The legendary Ernesto Perez-Carrillo (of EPC Cigars) and his Tabacalera La Alianza factory in the DR showcase a 6⅝" x 54 size, with the undisclosed recipe being packaged in black boxes. Gurkha Year of the Dragon 2024 (Oliva) Oliva Cigars and their famed factory in Nicaragua rolled the Gurkha Year of the Dragon in a commanding 6½" x 60 salomon vitola, Mexican San Andrés wrapper, a Cameroon binder, and a Nicaraguan filler. Gurkha Year of the Dragon 2024 (Oscar Valladares) The sole Honduran Gurkha Year of the Dragon cigar comes by way of boutique manufacturer Oscar Valladares, rolling an undisclosed blend in a classic 6" x 52 toro format, featuring yellow packaging. Gurkha Year of the Dragon 2024 (Tabacalera El Artista) Gurkha partnered with the Tabacalera El Artista factory in the DR for the first release in the Gurkha Year of the Dragon 2024 Collection. This cigar was rolled in a shapely 6¾" x 52 figurado format and is distinguished from the other cigars with red packaging.
