HVC Cerro Natural
Equal parts Cuban and Nicaraguan, the HVC Cerro Natural cigar pays tribute to Cuba through the fuller-bodied characteristics of Nicaraguan tobacco. This is due to company owner, Reinier Lorenzo, and his Cuban heritage, being raised in Havana, Cuba. Lorenzo named his company after Havana City (HVC), and the Cerro cigar was inspired by one of Havana's oldest neighborhoods: El Cerro.
The HVC Cerro cigar was among the first cigars created by HVC Cigars, being manufactured out of the boutique-minded TABSA factory (of Aganorsa Leaf fame) in Estelí, Nicaragua. Not only this, but the Cerro Natural (and the Cerro Maduro cigar, for that matter) makes use of Aganorsa's famed Cuban-seed tobacco throughout the entirety of the blend. This includes all-Nicaraguan binder/fillers and a reddish-hued Nicaraguan Corojo '99 wrapper. When combined, these ingredients perform Cuban-esque in profile yet Nicaraguan in attitude. Flavors are bright and zesty, with medium to full-bodied characteristics of cedar, roasted nuts, aromatic cabinet spices, red pepper, and touches of graham cracker sweetness through the finish.
