L'Atelier Roxy
Those familiar with Tatuaje and/or sister brand L’Atelier Imports are likely just as familiar with the brands' fondness for their canine friends, with many of their cigars and sizes being named for their dogs.
For L’Atelier Imports, this is evidenced by the L’Atelier Roxy—a two-in-one release that features the original L’Atelier and L’Atelier Maduro blends in one box. As you might imagine, Roxy was the name of one of K.C. Johnson’s dogs (K.C. being the older brother of Pete Johnson, owner of Tatuaje and L’Atelier). Johnson pays tribute to his beloved Roxy with a unique 3½" x 50 petit robusto version of the classic LAT and LAT Maduro cigars, said to represent the dual personalities of Roxy the canine.
The L’Atelier cigar is known for its use of Sancti Spíritus tobacco, featuring an Ecuadorian Sancti Spíritus wrapper and Nicaraguan binders and fillers. Meanwhile, the L’Atelier Maduro uses a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper over Nicaraguan binders and fillers. Both cigars are offered in the same petit size within a split box, with the natural-wrapped cigar being medium in body and hitting notes of cedar, spice, and toasted nuts, while the Maduro is a bit fuller in body, with characteristics of earth, black pepper, and molasses sweetness.
