La Palina Fuego Verde
While candela-wrapped cigars were once the most popular selection in the U.S., the green-hued leaves are now showcased on a much more limited basis, often coinciding with the green-friendly St. Paddy's Day holiday.
Such is the case with La Palina's Fuego Verde cigar, being released in small batches each spring since 2017. The name translates to mean Green Fire, offering a fun change of pace and a glimpse into the smoking preferences of the past (as La Palina is known to do) for cigar enthusiasts.
La Palina Fuego Verde begins with a vibrant, green candela wrapper from Honduras. This leaf is secured over a Honduran binder and all-Nicaraguan fillers, being handcrafted out of the General Cigar Dominicana factory in the DR. Mild to medium in intensity, the La Palina Fuego Verde offers atypical smoking characteristics of lemon grass, earth, barnyard hay, sage, and chamomile tea.
