In 2008, Oliva Cigars made the ingenious decision to wrap their most awarded cigar—Oliva Serie V—in a dark maduro wrapper. The concept was quick to take hold with cigar enthusiasts, and Oliva began introducing new versions of the Oliva Serie V Maduro Especial on an annual basis.

The Oliva Serie V Maduro cigar features the same primary filler recipe as the traditional Serve V cigar, using all-Nicaraguan tobaccos throughout the binder and filler. But the usual Ecuadorian Habano sun-grown wrapper has been swapped for a dark Mexican San Andrés maduro leaf. The resulting experience is equally rich and satisfying, bringing a familiar yet unique profile of classic leather, joined by cedar, sweet coffee, raisins, cinnamon, and mocha. It's as if you were eating oatmeal-raisin cookies paired with a mocha latte—now you'll never get that image out of your mind until you try it for yourself... (you're welcome!).
