Ozgener Family Cigars Bosphorus
Whether you know it or not, the Ozgener family has likely had an impact on your personal journey in the world of premium cigars. This is because they are the original name behind CAO, catapulting the now-ubiquitous cigar juggernaut to the top of cigar hobbyists' humidors through innovative tobacco recipes and branding during the early 2000s.
Now, after a 12-year absence from the industry, Tim Ozgener (son of CAO founder, Cano Aret Ozgener) has returned, introducing his own Ozgener Family Cigars brand under the Crowned Heads umbrella. No longer content sitting on the sidelines, Tim has returned in style, kicking off the Ozgener Family brand with the vibrantly colored Bosphorus cigar.
Bosphorus pays homage to his parents—both of whom were born in Turkey—with the name representing the Bosphorus Strait that defines the continental boundary between Asia and Europe. In terms of tobacco, the cigars boast a dark Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, a double binder of Ecuadorian Connecticut and Nicaragua, and all-Nicaraguan fillers. The blend is then box-pressed and offered in a suite of four sizes. Expect a medium-plus body, with intriguing flavors developing slowly through a cool smoking temperature. Standout characteristics range from spice and earth to notes of oak, medium-roast coffee, and touches of gingersnap.
