Rocky Patel TAVICUSA
While the ardent enthusiast may quickly picture Rocky Patel when the acronym TAVICUSA is mentioned, to the casual smoker, the term looks like straight-up gibberish!
This is because, like many abbreviations in the cigar industry, TAVICUSA represents Rocky Patel's own Tabacalera Villa Cuba S.A. factory in Estelí—a boutique operation that the company began in 2008. Here, Rocky Patel produces many of their most elite smoking experiences, including the Fifteenth Anniversary, Prohibition, and Sun Grown Maduro.
And for 2018, Rocky is commemorating the specialized factory with a cigar of its own, predictably titled Rocky Patel TAVICUSA. For this cigar, Nicaraguan tobaccos (harvested from all three of Nicaragua's major growing regions: Jalapa, Condega, and Estelí) have been incorporated into both the binder and filler, being topped with a savory Mexican San Andrés wrapper. Smokers can expect a medium to medium-plus body, loaded with punchy flavors of pepper spice, table cream, freshly ground coffee, and caramelized nuts.
